IES Teachers are the most important people in the IES business. IES teachers give their time, energy and love to children all over the country!
The IES teaching methodology teaches children the same way they learn their mother tongue, through a series of games, songs, poems and activities. Children learn to communicate with single words, then short, simple sentences, and later complex sentences. Reading and writing come later with further study.
For more information about IES programs in your area or to apply to become a teacher with IES visit the Director area of this web site or register with IES.
IES offers additional home reinforcement materials and our materials are also available for home schooling. Please visit our Catalog for more information.

Children are functionally deaf to sounds absent from their native tongue. “By 12 months [of age] infants have lost the ability to discriminate sounds that are not significant in their language...”
A child taught a second language after the age of 10 or so is unlikely ever to speak it like a native.
